Volunteering & Youth Council

The Efland Cheeks Community Center hosts volunteer programs for youth and adults, in addition to the Efland Cheeks Community Center Youth Council.  Application forms for submission are below.

Volunteer Agreement

As a volunteer of Efland Cheeks Community Center (ECCC), I agree to abide by the policies and procedures. I understand that I will be volunteering at my own risk and that the ECCC's employees and affiliates cannot assume any responsibility for any liability for any accident, injury, or health problem which may (arise from) result from any volunteer work I perform for the organization. I agree that all the work I do is on a volunteer basis, and that I am not eligible to receive any monetary payment or reward.

Committee Application

The Efland Cheeks Youth Council Committee is sponsored by the United Voices of Efland Cheeks to develop a diverse group of young leaders. The core values of the Efland Cheeks Youth Council Committee are to serve as an advisor on the Youth Affairs of Orange County. Student in grades 8 - 12 for the 2026 - 2027 school year who are residents of Orange County are eligible to apply.

Teen Youth Council Committee Requirements

  1. Youth applicants must fill out an application before a membership can be established.

  2. Youth must be ages 13 - 18 years of age.

  3. All Members must turn in a school report card at the time it is issued.

  4. Any applicant that has obtained a Felony or Class (A1) Misdemeanor charge in the past 12 months from the time the application is submitted will not be allowed to participate on the Youth Committee.

  5. Members must provide their own transportation to and from all meetings. Staff is not allowed to provide any transportation to youth.

  6. Parents/guardians are responsible for completing the parent/guardian portion of the application before a youth can be considered for membership.

  7. Members must attend each meeting when possible.

  8. All members must report to the Executive Director (Ms. Kimya Swann) or Assistant Executive Director ( ) with any concerns and/or issues concerning the Teen Youth Council Committee or an absent notification.

  9. All Applicants must provide proof of age once an application has been approved. Acceptable forms of ID: Birth Certificate, School ID, Driver's License, School Transcript, or Passport.

  10. All Applicants must be currently enrolled in school/educational institute.
