Who We Are
The Efland Cheeks Community Center is operated by United Voices of Efland Cheeks (UVEC), a grassroots nonprofit organization established in 1994. UVEC proudly serves the Efland-Cheeks community by offering educational, recreational, and various program activities for both adults and children.
UVEC is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation recognized under the general statutes of North Carolina and the Internal Revenue Service Code. Operated under an agreement with Orange County, NC -- all programs and classes are grant funded and free to the public.

Founded by and for the people of Efland & Cheeks -- we know these neighborhoods because we live here.
Open to All
Every resident is welcome, regardless of background or circumstance.

ABOUT EFLAND-CHEEKS
A diverse, working-class community in rural Orange County, due west of the Town of Hillsborough. Rooted in multi-generational farming families, the community embraces diversity and inclusion. UVEC is intentional in engaging and acknowledging each person and their value through community outreach projects and events.
